Mrs. Catherine Moody Broyhill 57, former K mart cafeteria manager, died Jan. 24, 1993, at Blowing Rock Hospital. Funeral is 2 p.m. Tuesday at Blowing Rock Church of God. Visitation is 7 to 8:30 tonight at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home, Boone.

Survivors are her husband, Taft; son, Norman Broyhill; daughter, Mrs. Kitty Bumgarner of Boone; sister, Mrs. Geraldine Pitts; stepsister, Mrs. Louise Bush of Walcott, N.Y.

Catherine Elizabeth Moody and Taft Broyhill were married on 17 September 1951 in Caldwell Co., NC.⁴⁵⁵⁷⁰ Taft Broyhill, son of Thomas Broyhill and Nora Carlton, was born on 1 November 1931 in North Carolina. Taft died at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, Mecklenburg Co., NC on 22 March 2008 and was buried at Boone Fork Community Cemetery in Blowing Rock, Watauga Co., NC on 25 March 2008 .⁴⁵⁵⁷¹

Mr. Taft Broyhill, age 76, of Ransom Street, Blowing Rock, died Saturday, March 22, 2008, at Carolina's Medical Center in Charlotte. 

Mr. Broyhill is survived by one daughter, Kitty Bumgarner of Oklahoma; one son, Norman Broyhill of Lenoir; one sister, Cleo Ford and husband Steve of Blowing Rock; two brothers, Ralph Broyhill and wife Marie, and John D. Broyhill, all of Blowing Rock, and a special friend, Debbie Bullard of Deep Gap. He is also survived by one grandchild,one great-grandchild, and a number of nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Moody Broyhill; his father and mother, Thomas and Nora Carlton Broyhill; one sister, Lydia Mae Lentz, and one brother, Glenn Roger Broyhill. 

Graveside services and burial for Mr. Taft Broyhill will be conducted Tuesday afternoon, March 25, 2008, at 3:00 o'clock, at Boone Fork Community Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor Darrell Miller.
