Lora Bell, 69, Pine Knot, died Tuesday, May 16.

He was born on March 13, 1903 in Wayne County, a son of Wayne Bell and Kizzie Dobbs Bell, both of whom preceded him in death. He was a retired coalminer [sic] and a member of the Pleasant Ridge United Baptist Church.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Salena Coffey Bell of Pine Knot; ten sons and daughters, Curtis Bell of Belfry, KY, Kenneth Bell of Guysville, Ohio, Mrs. Gladys Shields, Mrs. Grace Turnbolt and Mrs. Mornie Thomas, all of Muncie, Ind., Mrs. Nimon Cox of Tiffin, Ohio, Mrs. Ruby Little of Johnstown, Ohio, Mrs. Carl Hackney of Chicago and Mrs. Judy Hatfield of Ransom; three half-brothers, Roscoe, Veto and Maynard Smith, and one sister, Mrs. Anna Mae Roberts.

Funeral services were held Friday in the Pleasant Ridge United Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Jones officiating. Burial was in the Sherd Dobbs Cemetery. Hickman Funeral Home was in charge of Arrangements. [Source: Theresa Stephens, thunderbird584@comcast.net]

Kissiah Dobbs and John Alfred Smith were married. John Alfred Smith, son of Elijah Smith and Thursey Ann Woods, was born on 6 June 1869 in Tennessee. John died of myocarditis on 15 December 1949 at the age of 80 at home in Co-Operative, McCreary Co., KY and was buried at Sherd Dobbs Cemetery in Stearns, McCreary Co., KY on 17 December 1949.^26288,26289
