Obituary, Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home, Feb. 15, 2012 Raymond (Ray) Woodie age 85, of Jonas Ridge went home to be with the Lord, February 13, 2012 at Life Care Center of Banner Elk. He was Born May 27, 1926 and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked as a builder until he retired in 1993. He was preceded in death by: parents, Sam and Mae McCroskey Woodie; sisters, Ora Woodie, Estalena Franklin and Pauline Bumgarner; brothers, Wiley, Odie and Ernest Woodie. Raymond was a very special husband, dad and granddaddy. Left to cherish his memory are his: wife of 67 years, Marion Biggerstaff Woodie; son, Dan Woodie and wife Debbie of Newland; daughter, Gaye Blalock of Bakersville, Susie McEntyre and husband Jr. of Burnsville; six grandchildren, Kelly Blalock, Hope Teaster and husband Brian, Sam Woodie, Stacey McEntyre, Julie Weatherman and husband Weldon, Jamie McEntyre and wife Christy; four great grandchildren, Savannah, Connor and Lacie Weatherman, Caley McCurry; sisters-in-law, Gaye Woodie and Christine Woodie. Services for Mr. Woodie will be Wednesday, February 15th 7:00 p.m. in the Grandfather Chapel of Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until the service hour. Interment will be Thursday, February 16th 11:00 a.m. in the Jonas Ridge Cemetery. Raymond "Ray" Woodie and Marion M. Biggerstaff were married on 26 October 1944 in Avery Co., NC.46368 Marion M.
