Nancy Lee Cease, 80, of Blackwood Lane, died early on Tuesday, January 31, 2012, at Shenandoah Hospice House.

She was born on August 28, 1931, in Augusta County, to the late Hugh L. and Gladys Snead Coffey. She was a member of Valley Baptist Church in Stuarts Draft and was retired from Western State Hospital. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Angela Dawn Lucas.

Survivors include her husband, Everett Cease; a son, Randy Fitzgerald and wife, Mona, of Waynesboro; a daughter, Rebecca D. Lucas of Salem; four grandchildren, Dallas Fitzgerald, Eric Fitzgerald, Christopher Fitzgerald, Cathryn Terrell; and a number of great- grandchildren.

A service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, February 3, 2012, at the Stuarts Draft Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes with Pastor Frank Hall officiating. Burial will follow at Augusta Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Eric Fitzgerald, Dallas Fitzgerald, Christopher Fitzgerald, Tom Tracy, Don Miller, James Barker, Mike Pitsenbarger and Gerald Shifflett. Honorary pallbearers will be her cousins attending the service.
