Vernelle Coffey Butler passed away Monday, September 9, 2002. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stuart T. Butler; and a son, James Michael Butler.

Survivors include a son, Stuart T. Butler Jr. and his wife, Jane; a sister, Geneva C. Hertless; and two grandsons, Stuart T. Butler III and John W. Butler, all of Richmond.

The family will receive friends 6 p.m to 8 p.m Wednesday at the home of Tommy and Jane Butler. Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday at Forest Lawn.
