He was born November 24, 1916 in Orange County, a son of the late James Richard Yeager, Sr. and Florence Leigh Yeager. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, James Richard Yeager, Ill. Mr. Yeager was a member and Elder of Emeritus of Grace Presbyterian Church and a veteran of WW II. He was employed by VDOT for 45 years and surveyed privately for many years after his retirement. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ruth C. Yeager; a daughter, Caroline Elizabeth Ramsey and husband, Rodney, of Marietta, Ga.; granddaughter, Patricia Leigh Yeager of Staunton; daughter-in-law, Mary Jane Yeager of Fishersville; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 29, 2007 at Grace Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Paul Carter officiating. Burial will follow with military rites in Stonewall Jackson Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Gideons International or Grace Presbyterian Building Fund. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, August 28, 2007 at Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, Va. |
