.GRETNA - Elva Coffey Scott, 90, of Gretna died Sunday, Sept. 25, 2005, in Gretna Health Care Center.

Born Dec. 27, 1914, in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Bentley Everton Coffey and Una Davis Coffey.

She was predeceased by her husband, William C. Scott Jr., a son, William Coffey Scott and a sister, Margerite "Margie" Dudley.

Mrs. Scott was a member of Anderson Memorial United Methodist Church and was a former employee of Peoples Bank of Gretna.

She is survived by two nieces, Sue Wyant and Ginger Abshire, both of Gretna; two great-nephews, William Bentley Dews and Everton Scott Callahan.

Graveside services were conducted 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 26, at Gretna Burial Park by the Rev. R.G. Rowland.

Colbert-Moran Funeral Home of Gretna was in charge of the arrangements.

Coffey and Mr. Scott is the son of Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Scott, all of Gretna, where Mr. and Mrs. Scott will continue to make their home. William C. Scott, son of W. C. Scott and Willie Shelton, was born on 14 September 1909 in Pittsylvania Co., VA. William died in Pittsylvania Co., VA on 26 February 1972 and was buried at Gretna Burial Park in Gretna, Pittsylvania Co., VA in February 1972 .⁴⁷⁸²⁸
