Obituary, Dignity Memorial, Pendry's Lenoir Funeral Home, Lenoir, Caldwell Co., NC Gale Coffey Little, 73, of Lenoir passed away Thursday, January 14, 2010 at Kindred Hospital in Greensboro, NC. Mrs. Little was born in Caldwell County to the late Frenis D. Coffey and Mae Teague Coffey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Little and her brother, Barney Coffey. She was a graduate of Kings Creek High School and received a degree in music at Lenoir-Rhyne College where she studied piano under Thelma Rast. She taught private piano in Valdese, Marion, at Mills Home in Thomasville and in Lenoir. She also served as accompanist at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Valdese, First Baptist Church in Marion, Mills Home Baptist Church in Thomasville and College Avenue Baptist Church in Lenoir where she served through December, 2009. Survivors include her sons, Eddie Little and his wife Marjorie of Lenoir and Tim Little and his wife Robin of Lumberton; brothers, Kenneth Coffey of Winston Salem and Steve Coffey of Knoxville, TN; a sister, Jan Morgan of Marion; two grandchildren, Teague and Cennovia Little, and her aunt, Edna Teague of the home. A memorial service will be held Sunday, January 17, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at College Avenue Baptist Church with Dr. Earl Davis officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The family requests that memorials be made to College Avenue Baptist Church in Lenoir, 1201 College Ave. SW, Lenoir, NC 28645.
