He was the husband of Mercede Ragland Fitzgerald; born in Nelson County; he was the son of the late James Robert and Clara Coffey Fitzgerald; he was retired owner of Fitzgerald Dry Cleaners; and a member of Fairview Christian Church of which he was an honorary Elder and past member of the board. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Pauline F. Vencill of Richmond; a brother, Lawney N. Fitzgerald of Roseland and a sister, Mrs. Annie May Fitzgerald of Waynesboro. Funeral services will be conducted Monday 2 P.M. at Fairview Christian Church with the Revs. Dr. John L. Suttenfield and Dr. Willie E. Davis. Burial in Ft. Hill Memorial Park.
