Randy Wayne Coffey, of Trice Fork Mt. Rd., Newland, passed away on Tuesday, March 2, 2010. He was a native and life long resident of Avery County, and a son of the late Roy Sylvester Coffey. He was a member of Vale Freewill Baptist Church. He enjoyed camping, trading, bluegrass, country music and talking to people. Randy loved his family and had many friends. He drove a truck for Gouge Oil Company.

Surviving are his wife Cindy Brewer Coffey of the home; one daughter Ashley Coffey of the home; mother Mildred Cornett Coffey of Newland, one sister Nancy and Paul Sluder of Newland; two nieces and two nephews. Also a father and mother-in-law Bill and Ramona Brewer of Newland.

Funeral service will be conducted at 7:00pm, Thursday March 4, 2010 at the Grandfather Chapel of Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home with the Rev. Gene Carver officiating. The family will receive friends from 6pm until the service hour Thursday evening. Interment will be at 11:00 am Friday, March 5, 2010 at Fork Mountain Cemetery.
