C. J. (Jack) Coffey, 71, died at Baptist Hospital, Knoxville, Wednesday after a two weeks illness. A farmer and lifelong resident of Thorn Hill, he attended Cedar Springs Baptist Church. Survivors: wife, Mary Anne Turner Coffey; daughters, Mrs. George Dalton, Miss Eva Coffey, all of Thorn Hill; Mrs. Kenneth Sill, Dearborn, Mich; sons, Hayden and Tyson of LaSalle, Mich; sisters, Mrs. George Harville, Thorn Hill, Mrs. Arthur Mallicoat, Morristown, Mrs. T. H. Dalton, Tazewell; Mrs. J. M. Campbell, Morristown; Mrs. R. H. Redding, Castonia, NC; brothers, Ballard, Thorn Hill; J.D., Washburn, James E.,, Russellville; Marcus, Thorn Hill; six grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends. Furneral services, Thorn Hill Baptist Church, 10 a.m. Friday, Aug 2, Rev. W. W. Walton officiating. Interment Davidspn Cemetery. Nieces and nephews will serve as flowerbearers and pallbearers. The body is at the residence, Thorn Hill. Brooks in charge.
