Myrtle died on 13 October 2010 at the age of 79 in Fishersville, Augusta Co., VA and was buried at Wintergreen Cemetery in Nellysford, Nelson Co., VA on 16 October 2010. Obituary, The News Virginian, Oct. 15, 2010 Myrtle Truslow Coffey, 79, of Nellysford, died on Wednesday, October 13, 2010, at Augusta Health. She was born in Nelson County on February 20, 1931, a daughter of the late Vernon Truslow and Clora Belle Puckett Truslow. Myrtle loved and cherished her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed reading and had a love for flowers and hummingbirds. She is survived by three sons, James Lee Thompson and his children, Jamie, Steve, Jennifer and Carrie all of Waynesboro; Tony Thompson and his wife, Janice, and their daughter, Sandie, of Roseland; and Kevin Coffey and his wife, Sonya, and their son, Waylon, of Waynesboro; a stepson, Pat Coffey and his wife, Doris, of Illinois; a brother, Carroll Truslow and hsi wife, Joyce, of Lovingston; two sisters, Ollie Fitzgerald and Mabel Napier, both of Nellysford; several great-grandchildren and many other loving relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, Rodney Thompson and Arthur Coffey; a son, Dennis "Rusty" Thompson; two brothers, Jack Truslow and Wesley Truslow. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, October 16, 2010, at Wintergreen Christian Church, by Pastor Steve Wilson and Mr. Robert Mansfield with burial to follow at Wintergreen Cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. The family will receive friends at the home of Kevin and Sonya Coffey. Byrum Parr Funeral Home is serving the family.
