Gene Coffey, 83, of Lima passed away July 27, 2012. He was born on July 16, 1929, in Lima to Grover and Phronia (Grafton) Coffey who are both deceased. He was married to the late Carolyn (Tippie) Coffey for 32 years, until her death in 1990.

Gene worked for the city of Lima for 30 years as a heavy equipment operator. He has a son James (Jill) Coffey of Lima and a daughter, Susan Singer, also of Lima; 3 grandchildren, Daniel Lumpkins, Lindsey Lumpkins and Krista Elaine Coffey, great-granddaughter, Lynajah Grisby, and dear friend, Nellie Fraley. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Carolyn, brother Glenn Coffey and sister Elsie Montgomery.

Mr. Coffey was a life member of Lima VFW, Post 1275 and enjoyed being outdoors, and his daily trips for coffee at McDonalds and Burger King. He also looked forward to his favorite vacation spot in Las Vegas.

Family and friends are invited to his service on Tuesday at 10:00 AM at the Siferd-Orians Funeral Home, 506 N. Cable Rd. Burial after service at Cairo East Cemetery, with military graveside rites by V.F.W. Post 1275. Visitation will be on Monday, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Gene Coffey and Carolyn June Tippie were married. Carolyn June Tippie, daughter of Arnold Richard Tippie and Cynthia Cecil Binkley, was born in 1938. Carolyn died in Ohio in 1990 and was buried at Cairo, Allen Co., OH in 1990.⁴³³⁴⁵
