Clinie Joseph Fitzgerald, 57, of Beech Grove, died at 3 p.m. yesterday in Waynesboro Community Hospital shortly after being admitted. Mr. Fitzgerald had been employed by Basic-Witz Furniture Industries, Inc., for the past 18 years.

He was born in Nelson County Jan. 21, 1909, a son of the late Charles Napoleon and Malissa Truslow Fitzgerald. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Hazel Campbell Fitzgerald; one daughter, Miss Carolina Ann Fitzgerald, at home; one son, Jesse J. Fitzgerald of Waynesboro; four sisters, Mrs. Haywood Campbell, Mrs. Maury Fitzgerald and Mrs. William Wiggins, all of Beech Grove,, and Mrs. Johnnie Falls of Greenfield; three brothers, Willie E. Fitzgerald of Waynesboro, Leslie R. Fitzgerald of Afton and Lewis L. Fitzgerald of Crozet; also, one grandson and a number of nieces and nephews.

The body will remain at the Etter Funeral Home until 12 noon Sunday, when it will be placed in the Beech Grove Christian Church, where a funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., conducted by the Rev. J. D. Farries. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the residence tonight from 7 to 8.

Active pallbearers will be Wilson Wiggins, Brent Fitzgerald, Earl Thompson, Jimmie Campbell, Leslie Fitzgerald, Jr. and Windom Henderson. Honorary pallbearers will be Stanley McGann, J. P. Duncan, Caskie Fitzgerald, Delmas Campbell, Melvin Dodd, Hawthorne Falls, Mulford Campbell, John Patrick, Walter Carter, Mitchell Thompson, Alex Kidd, Peter Falls, N. C. Clinie Joseph Fitzgerald and Hazel Marie Campbell were married. Hazel Marie Campbell, daughter of Rufus N. Campbell and Eliza Jean Mildred Coffey, was born on 10 June 1921 in Virginia. Hazel died on 25 March 2006 at the age of 84 in Augusta Co., VA and was buried at Beech Grove Cemetery in Beech Grove, Nelson Co., VA.^30292,30293
