10211. Helen Virginia Fitzgerald was born on 21 March 1918 in Beech Grove, Nelson Co., VA. Helen died on 28 May 1994 at the age of 76 in Afton, Nelson Co., VA and was buried at Beech Grove Cemetery in Roseland, Nelson Co., VA.³⁰²⁹⁴

AFTON - Helen Virginia "Ma" Falls, 76, of Rt. 2 Box 548, a very special wife and mother, passed away at 2:30 Saturday afternoon [May 28, 1994] at her residence. She was born March 21, 1918, at Beech Grove, a daughter of the late Charles and Mellisse (Truslow) Fitzgerald.

She was a lifetime member of Beech Grove Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her first husband, John Thomas Mawyer, in 1961, and a sister, Swannie Wiggins, on May 24 of this year. Survivors include her husband, J.W. Falls; three daughters and sons-in-law, Irene and Doug Thompson of Nellysford, Joyce and John Huffman of Afton, and Dot and Frank Armentrout, also of Afton; a stepson, John Harvey Falls of Afton; 10 grandchildren, two step-granddaughters and 15 great-grandchildren.

A service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Beech Grove Christian Church by the Rev. T. Ray Coffey. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service. Active pallbearers will be Greg Armentrout, Jeff Armentrout, Tommy Thompson, Page Thompson, Randall Thompson, Mike Huffman, Rusty Huffman and Calvin Truslow. Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Harris, Mark Brownlee, Earl Thompson, Carl McGann, Justin Carter, Walter Gray, Glen Page, H.T. Page, Bill Lane, Roger Cash, Guy Duncan, Guy Boyd and a very special friend and physician, Dr. Robert Raynor. Additional honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday in the Waynesboro chapel of Etter Funeral Home. 

Helen Virginia Fitzgerald and John Thomas Mawyer were married circa 1939. John Thomas Mawyer was born on 11 November 1919. John enlisted in the on 15 February 1945 at Roanoke, VA.³⁰²⁹⁵ John died on 22 July 1960 at the age of 40 in Virginia and was buried at Beech Grove Cemetery in Roseland, Nelson Co., VA.³⁰²⁹⁶

Helen Virginia Fitzgerald and John William Falls were married. John William Falls was born on 17 September 1914. John died on 24 August 1998 at the age of 83 in Virginia and was buried at Beech Grove Cemetery in Beech Grove, Nelson Co., VA.
