Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Burial will be at 4 p.m. in Rose Hill Cemetery in Tulia. Mrs. Darnell was born Jan. 18, 1916, in Miami, Texas, to Ruth Coffee Coble and Edgar Coble. She started school at San Jacinto when it opened and sixth-grade at Sam Houston when it opened. She graduated from Amarillo High School in 1934 and went on to attend WT. She worked for Enoch’s and Shield’s Refrigeration, where she met her future husband. She married Donley Darnell, a returning war veteran, on Jan. 22, 1946. They married in the family home at 609 Tennessee St., by brother-in-law, Rodney Glasscock. They moved to the Vigo Park community. One son was born to them on June 4, 1948. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donley, on May 13, 1988. Survivors include a son, Donley Darnell Jr.; a sister, Merle Jo Morris of Amarillo; a sister-in-law, Allison Coble of Texarkana; and a granddaughter, Megan Darnell of Sheridan, Wyo. Mary Oliver Coble and Donley Gray Darnell Sr. were married on 22 January 1946 in Amarillo, Randall Co., TX. Mary Oliver Coble and Donley Gray Darnell Sr. had the following children:
