Clarence Junior Coffey, age 74, of Wayside Place, Lenoir went home to be with the Lord peacefully on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care-Lenoir. He was born August 16, 1945 in Caldwell County to the late Lester and Alice Philyaw Coffey. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one daughter, Kimberly Ann Coffey Spann; and three sisters Etta Mae Hamby, Mary Ellen Philyaw, and Rachel Evelyn Philyaw.

Mr. Coffey faithfully served his family and community as the owner and operator of a small engine repair shop for over fifty years. By ear alone he was able to diagnose most repairs brought to him. In his spare time, he enjoyed motorcycle racing, hunting and fishing.

Those left to cherish his memory include one brother, Cloyd “Dale” Coffey of Lenoir; two sisters, Linda C. Triplett and husband Barry of Collettsville, and Catherine J. Abernathy of Lenoir; one grandson, Grayson P. Spann; and one great-granddaughter, Kimberly Avery Spann.

The family will have a private family service at a later date.

The family would like to say a special thank you to all the friends who visited and ministered to Mr. Coffey during his illness.

Kimberly "Kim" Coffey was born on 20 August 1964 in Yadkin Valley, Caldwell Co., NC.⁴⁵⁷⁶⁷ Kimberly died at Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory, Catawba Co., NC on 19 March 2012 and was buried at Rufus Baptist Church Cemetery in Mulberry Twp., Caldwell Co., NC on 22 March 2012 .

Kimberly “Kim” C. Spann, age 47, of Spann Hill Circle, Lenoir, left this world to be with her Heavenly Father, after a long seven year battle with breast cancer, Monday, March 19, 2012 at Catawba Valley Medical Center. Now her war here is over and the victory is hers through our Lord Jesus Christ.

She was born August 20, 1964 in Caldwell County to Clarence Coffey of Lenoir and Peggy Setzer Greene of Lenoir.

Mrs. Spann was a secretary for Hancock Surgery Center and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors in addition to her parents, include her husband, J. R. Spann of the home; a son, Grayson P. Spann of the home; maternal grandmother, Gladys Setzer of Lenoir; step-father, Roger Greene of Lenoir; step-brother, Leslie Greene of Charleston, S.C.; and step- sister, Leanne Ingram of Wilkesboro.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, March 22, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. at Rufus Baptist Church Cemetery conducted by Rev. Raymond Spann.
