4098. Alice Sophronia "Allie" Coffey was born on 13 February 1870 in Nelson Co., VA. She lived with her daughter Emma Coffey Bridge in South River Dist., Augusta Co., VA on 14 April 1930. Alice died on 22 June 1955 at the age of 85 in Lyndhurst, Augusta Co., VA and was buried at Mountain View Mennonite Church Cemetery in Sherando, Augusta Co., VA.^13194,13195

Mrs. Alice S. Coffey, 85, died at 5:45 p.m. yesterday at the home of Oscar Bridge near Stuarts Draft.
Born Feb. 13, 1870 in Nelson County, Mrs. Coffey was a daughter of the late Morris and Mildred Coffey. She was preceded in death by her husband Hugh Coffey on April 3, 1921. Mrs. Coffey was a faithful member of the Mountain View Mennonite Church.
Survivors include one son A. P. Coffey, Staunton; one brother, Nicholas Coffey, Verona and three grandchildren.
The body will remain at the Etter Funeral Home and will be placed in the Mountain View Mennonite Church at 1 p.m. Friday where funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Service will be conducted by the Rev. Joseph R. Driver, assisted by the Rev. Charles Grove and the Rev. Frank Hatter. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Hershel Bridge, Jesse Bridge, Reginald Bridge, Jake Hewitt, Frank Coffey and William Coffey.

Alice Sophronia "Allie" Coffey and Hugh "Hughey" Coffey were married on 8 January 1885 in Nelson Co., VA.¹³¹⁹⁶ They¹³¹⁹⁶ appeared in the census on 23 June 1900 in Massies Mill, Nelson Co, VA.¹³¹⁹⁷ They¹³¹⁹⁷ appeared in the census on 21 April 1910 in Nelson Co., VA.¹³¹⁹⁸ Hugh "Hughey" Coffey, son of George Washington Coffey and Mary Catherine Demastus, was born circa 1861 in Virginia.
