HAYSLETT, Phyllis Lucille, 77, of Salem, passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2003. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 51 years, James William Hayslett and a daughter, Phyllis Ann Hayslett.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Sam and Brenda Hayslett of Salem; son and his partner, Carl J. Hayslett and David Frink of Richmond; grandchildren, Sean Hayslett of Salem, Cheri and John Lankford of Roanoke; great-grandchildren, Amanda and Heather; brothers and sisters, Samuel D. Coffey, Jr. of Roanoke, Bernice McDaniel of Salem, Roma Ann Coffey of Salem, Everett C. Coffey of Salem; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, September 6, 2003, at Lotz Salem Chapel with Rev. Michael Palmer officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Lawn Burial Park.

The family will receive friends 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Playground Fund, South Salem P.T.A., 77 Carolyn Lane, Salem, Va. 24153.

Arrangements are being handled by Lotz Funeral Home, Salem. 

Phyllis Lucille Coffey and James William Hayslett were married circa 1945. James William Hayslett was born on 15 September 1917 in Virginia. James died in Salem, VA on 13 August 1996 and was buried at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park in Roanoke, VA on 16 August 1996 .43355,43356

HAYSLETT, James William, 78, of Salem, passed away Tuesday, August 13, 1996, at his Salem home. He had 26 years of service with Stuart McGuire in Salem. He played minor league baseball for the Chicago Cubs in 1939. He served with the 2nd Armored Division in World War II under General Patton.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Phyllis Hayslett Niedfeldt. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Lucille Hayslett; two sons and daughter-in-law, Samuel William and Brenda Hayslett, Salem, Carl James Hayslett and partner, David M. Frink, Richmond; two brothers, Robert Hayslett, John Hayslett, both of Lexington; one sister, Josephine Hayslett, Lexington; a grandson and wife, William Sean and Mary Lynne Hayslett, Salem; a granddaughter and husband, Cheri and John Lankford, Roanoke; two great-grandchildren, Amanda Megan Hayslett, Heather Katherine Hayslett, both of Salem.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Lotz Salem Chapel with interment in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Lotz Salem Chapel.
