Shirley Dean Hewitt Coffey Shirley Dean Hewitt Coffey, 77, formerly of Stuarts Draft, passed away at 8:10 a.m. on Sunday, April 21, 2013, at Augusta Health in Fishersville.

She was born on April 26, 1935, in Waynesboro, a daughter of the late James Leonard and Pearl Due Humphries Hewitt. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints of Waynesboro. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Juria Mae "Bill" Coffey; three brothers, James Hewitt, Glenn Hewitt and Bill Hewitt; and a sister, Kathleen Harris. Survivors include a son, Michael Zane Coffey and wife, Jeralyn, of Salt Lake City, Utah; a daughter, Connie Maria Day and husband, Mark, of Stuarts Draft; a sister, Hilda Bradley of Waynesboro; two grandchildren, Nathanal Andrew Coffey and wife, Chelsie, and Spencer Jeria Coffey; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, April 25, 2013, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 2825 Jefferson Lane, Waynesboro, by Bishop Steve Smith. Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Gary Bradley, Jonathan Helmick, Michael Helmick, Jeff Bradley, Kenny Hewitt, Mark Hewitt, Rodney German, and Scott German. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
