He was born April 30, 1932, in Caldwell County to the late Wess and Allie Philyaw Coffey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Holloway Coffey; one son, Rhonda Gene Cof fey; three brothers, Albert, Ira, and William T. Coffey; and one sister, Cora Lee Coffey. Mr. Coffey had worked for Caldwell Trucking Company for 40 years as a truck driver and was of the Baptist faith. He proudly ser ved his Nation in the U.S. Army and was in the Korean War. Sur vivors include two daughters, Donna K. Sailor of Patterson and Sherri D. Hicks of Hudson; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held Friday, April 21, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens of Lenoir conducted by the Rev.
