Tommy Goode was born in Chattanooga, Tenn., on Dec. 8, 1942, and was raised in Decatur. He was an Eagle Scout, a graduate of Decatur High School and a member of First Christian Church of Decatur. Tommy also attended the University of Alabama and a member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He was active for many years with the Morgan County Jaycees, Morgan County Fair Committee and the Morgan County Democratic Executive Committee. Tommy was partners with his father, J.W. Goode, at Bank Street Furniture Company. He was the owner of Custom Frame and Art Supply and Serigraphics, both of Decatur, as well as Industrial Graphics of Madison. Loved by his family, friends and dogs, he will be missed by his wife of 37 years, Jackie Eaken Goode; daughters, Elizabeth Coffee and husband Mark Coffee of Roswell, Ga. and Christy Blumenfeld and husband Adam Blumenfeld of Dallas; grandchildren, Thomas and Olivia Coffee and Alexandra and Benjamin Blumenfeld. Tommy is also survived by his mother, Ophelia "Fifi" Goode of Decatur; mother-in-law, Olivia Ozier Eaken; and brother, Allen Goode and wife Lois Goode and their children, Elizabeth and John of Phoenix. The family will receive visitors at St. John's Episcopal Church at 202 Gordon St. SE, Decatur, beginning at 2 p.m. prior to the service on Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2003, at 3 p.m. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Allen Goode, Adam Blumenfeld, Mark Coffee, Gary Grisham, Rod Goode and Dickie Goode. |
