According to Arzelia's pension application, Jesse served in this "company and regiment about nine months from August 10th 1864, to the latter part of April, 1865." "He was present at the surrender, at Augusta, Ga. about the last of April, 1865."
Jesse died in Rabun Co., GA on 8 January 1900 and was buried at Coffee Family Cemetery in Clayton, Rabun Co., GA in January 1900 .²⁶⁷⁹
