"Mother told me, concerning the death of their first son, W. W. Lee, III, that he cried a lot and the doctor prescribed "Atropine" to ease his tummy pains. He died in the night from that medicine. The next morning, when the doctor came, he took the bottle to the sink and washed it out. Looking at an earlier picture of the baby, our daughter-in-law, Susan said he was about 9 months old. Both our son, David and I had reactions to "Atropine." This information was given to me (Al Carhart) by Sarah Elsie Ruth (Lee) Schaub, sister of W. W. Lee, III; as told to her by her mother, Louella (Gardner) Lee. | 16102 | ii. | David Robert Lee was born on 22 February 1941 in Liberty, Liberty Co., TX. David died in Albuquerque, Bernalillo Co., NM on 11 April 1997. "David Robert Lee was in the Military, flying in an extra cramped helicopter for an extra long time while in Panama, in the 1980s. The men were to rappel down a rope in the dark. He did not realize his left hand and leg were numb. He went down the rope with no traction to slow him. He hit bottom and his weapon broke his back and injured some internal organs. All the men were trained to administer first aid to each other but it was not known, in those days, to check blood for Hepatitis. The doctors gave him 5 or 6 years to live but he lived longer than that. My two brothers, their wives, Paul and I visited him in the hospital. He was transferred to Albuquerque, NM. We took our son, Stephen, one year to visit him." This information was given to me by Sarah Elsie Ruth (Lee) Schaub, David Robert Lee's sister, of Irving, Texas. Al Carhart |
