Willis Walter Lee, son of Joshua Lee and Eliza Doster, was born on 11 July 1869 in Rome, Floyd Co., GA. He lived with his parents in Chattooga Co., GA on 18 June 1880. He lived with D. W. Ward in Hale Co., AL on 18 June 1900. Rev. Lee Retired Harlingen Pastor To Be Buried At San Antonio (Special to The Herald) Harlinger, Dec. 14.--Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist church here Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock for Rev. W. W. Lee, retired Baptist minister who died at his home here Friday night at 11:20 o'clock. Rev. Lee, 66, was pastor of the church here for nine years, and resigned his pastorate last January because of failing health. The widely-known pastor was born in Georgia, and was educated at Howard college, Birmingham, Ala., and later at Southern Baptist Seminary at Louisville, KY. He held pastorates at several Alabama cities including Birmingham. He was married to Miss Lina Coffee [sic] at Rash, Ala., and taught school for a short time before entering the ministry. In 1906, Rev. Lee accepted the pastorate of the Calvary Baptist church at San Antonio and remained as head of that church for 14 years. After accepting the Harlingen pastorate, he was instrumental in the erection of the new church building here. Rev. Lee held several church positions. He was a member of the state executive board, Baptist General convention, for 15 years; was moderator of the San Antonio association for 9 years; was moderator of the Valley association for 6 years; was a member of the executive board of the Southern Baptist Seminary; and was a member of the board of the Valley Baptist hospital here. He also was a member of the Alzafar Temple at San Antonio. Survivors include his wife; four sons, W. W., Jr., of Cleveland, Tenn.; Dallas of Edinburg; Ralph of Houston; and Howard, student of Baylor University; and four brothers, Frank of Tennessee; Dallas of Georgia; Charles of Florida; and Eli of Oklahoma City; and two grandchildren, Ima Ruth and Mary Virginia. Following services at the church under direction of Rev. E. Douglas Carver and with church deacons serving as pallbearers, the body will be forwarded Sunday night to San Antonio for Interment. "I was born 11 miles N.E. of Rome Floyd County Ga. My father moved to Chattooga County Ga seven miles west of Dirt Town (now Kortah) post office Jan 1871 and lived there until December 1878 where he bought a small farm 1 1/4 miles from Lyerly Ga on the Gayensville road where [he] lived thirty years." Rev. Lee was a pastor at Calvary Baptist Church in San Antonio from 1912 until 1925. Between 1925 and 1935 he was pastor at The First Baptist Church in Harlingen. Angelina "Lina" Coffey and Rev.
