Mrs. Eula Beatrice Fitzgerald, 71, Rt. 2, Stuarts Draft, died 1:50 p.m. Monday (Nov. 21, 1983) in Waynesboro Community Hospital.

She was born in Nelson County Aug. 3, 1912, daughter of Mrs. Teressie F.
Coffey of Rt. 4, Waynesboro, and the late Charles Austin Coffey.

She was a member of Sherando Christian Church and a retired seamstress
with L. Grief and Co., Verona.

Her husband, Ottis Owen Fitzgerald, died March 16.

Besides her mother, she is survived by one son, Roger L. Fitzgerald of
Lyndhurst; six daughters, Mrs. Madeline F. Rhodes, Mrs. Florine F. Painter,
Mrs. Ruthie F. Dedrick, Mrs. Dottie F. Dameron and Mrs. Edith F. Stennett,
all of Sherando, and Mrs. Libby F. Dameron of Waynesboro; two sisters, Mrs.
Gladys Taylor of Waynesboro and Mrs. Myrtle Grant of Shipman; 18 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.

A service will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday in Sherando Christian Church by the Revs. Stan Shirk and Billy Morris. Burial will be in Lyndhurst United
Methodist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Danny and Paul Painter, Mike Rhodes, Robert and Timothy
Dameron, Tony Stinnett, Ed McCauley and Buck Fitzgerald.

The family will receive friends at the residence and from 7-8 tonight at the
Waynesboro Chapel of Etter Funeral Home.

Eula Beatrice Coffey and Ottis Owen Fitzgerald were married in 1927 in Nelson Co., VA. They appeared in the census on 26 April 1940 in Massies Mill, Nelson Co, VA.¹⁴⁴⁰¹ Ottis Owen Fitzgerald was born on 28 August 1910 in Nelson Co., VA. He lived with Thomas H. Coffey in Massies Mill, Nelson Co, VA on 26 January 1920.

Thomas H. Coffey is Henry Thomas, son of Edmund and Mary Monroe Coffey. Ottis died on 16 March 1983 at the age of 72 in Stuarts Draft, Augusta Co., VA and was buried at Lyndhurst United Methodist Church Cemetery in Lyndhurst, Augusta Co., VA.^14402,14403

STUARTS DRAFT-Ottis Owen Fitzgerald, 72, of Rt. 2, died Wednesday at Waynesboro Community Hospital. He was born in Nelson County Aug. 28, 1910. He was a member of the Sherando Christian Church. He retired in 1974 from Wayn-Tex Inc., as a loom oiler.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Eula Beatrice Coffey Fitzgerald; one son, Roger L. Fitzgerald, Lyndhurst; six daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Madeline) Rhodes, Mrs. Herman (Florine) Painter, Mrs. Freddie (Ruthie) Dedrick, Mrs. Ralph (Dottie) Dameron and Mrs. Richard (Edith) Stinnett, all of Sherando and Mrs. Freddie (Libby) Dameron, Waynesboro; two sisters, Mrs. Eva Will, Clinton, Md., and Mrs. Kenneth (Ethel) Staller, Ft. Valley, Ga.; two brothers, Robert L. Fitzgerald, Mechanicsville, and Arnie M. Fitzgerald, Raphine; one step-brother, Gene Lotts; two step-sisters: Mrs. Bessie Holbert and Mrs. Margaret Robertson; seventeen grandchildren, one step-grandchild and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Darius Fitzgerald, Caleb Fitzgerald and Wallace Fitzgerald; step-brothers, Harry Lotts, John Lotts and Walter Lotts, and a stepsister, Louise Coffey.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow in the Sherando Christian Church, conducted by the Revs. Billy Morris and Roy Kiser, with interment in the Lyndhurst United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Sonny Taylor, Don Taylor, Butch Taylor, William Coffey, Everette Allen and Dale Allen.

Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons and grandsons-in-law, John McCrary, Douglas Henderson, Larry Stuples, Bobby Rusmisel, Webb Shaffer, John Yeago, Eddie Allen and Danny Painter.
