Margaret Lagustia Gragg and James Burgess Coffey were married on 25 January 1876 in Johns River Twp., Caldwell Co., NC.⁸⁰¹² They⁸⁰¹² lived with his parents in Yadkin Valley, Caldwell Co., NC on 18 June 1880. They appeared in the census on 6 June 1900 in Yadkin Valley, Caldwell Co., NC.⁸⁰¹³ Margaret and James⁸⁰¹³ appeared in the census on 26 April 1910 in Wilson Creek Twp., Caldwell Co., NC.⁸⁰¹⁴ They⁸⁰¹⁴ appeared in the census on 15 January 1920 in Wilson Creek Twp., Avery Co., NC.⁸⁰¹⁵

Margaret and Burgess lived the early part of their marriage in Avery Co., on Wilson Creek. After their children were born, they moved to Roseboro on Lost Cove Creek. Most of the family, including Margaret's mother and father and three of their children are buried at the Granny Gragg Cemetery in Avery Co. Their graves were located and marked in 1977.

Also buried in this cemetery is Taylor Gragg, the last of Revolutionary Bill Gragg's children, himself a Confederate soldier. His grave is marked with the appropriate government stone. James Burgess Coffey, son of Bryce Brisco Coffey and Susannah Gragg, was born on 4 July 1851 in Yadkin Valley, Caldwell Co., NC. He is recorded in several places as Joseph B.Coffey, John Burgess Coffey and James Burgess Coffey.
James died consumption and was buried at on 14 June 1920 at the age of 68 in Wilson Creek Twp., Avery Co., NC and was buried at Gragg Cemetery in Gragg, Avery Co., NC.^{8009,8010,8011}
