"Radford Reams, prominent church and civic leader, became legendary as the longtime editor and publisher of the Southern Standard, McMinnville's venerable newspaper, beginning in September 1882. In March 1885, he became sole owner of the newspaper and worked as both editor and publisher until it was purchased in 1924 by Tom C. Price."
