A. Coffey celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary. Like any other marriage, it hasn't been smooth sailing every minute of those 68 years, but as the former Chloe Moore of Lenoir said, "We've survived the storms and made it." There was no big fanfare this time. They celebrated the 50th and the 60th a little more elaborately and this year just got together with the family to give thanks. Thursday they were in Salisbury with their son and daughter-in-law, Dr. James C. Coffey and Mildred, for a family gathering and later stopped by Lexington for the Leonard and Koontz reunion. The reunion drew them because of their other son and daughter-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. R. T. Coffey of Lake Norman. Nancy, who was from Lexington, was involved in the reunion. The third son, Ivan Moore Coffey died last March. Their are six grandchildren and five great grands. Chloe was 16 when she married. That makes her 84 now, a little younger than her 90-year-old husband, formerly in the grocery and insurance business.
