The impact resulted in a 55 gallon drum of varsol on the state truck exploding. Frank lost his battle to survive two weeks after he was transported to the Medical College of Virginia burn unit.
In addition to his wife, Frank was survived by his parents, Helen and Giles Cash, sisters, Beverley Folk and Nancy Puffenbarger, brother, Mickey Cash, and several nieces and nephews.
