It is told that William and his brothers disliked their father because of his alcoholism and abusiveness. His first wife, Gertrude divorced him and refused to allow him to see their son Richard. George's children, William and Otto by his second wife Elsie disliked him so much that they moved their mother away from him. William had changed his name while in high school - not legally - by adding Jr. at the end so that no one would know who is father was.

She appeared in the census on 10 April 1940 in Honolulu, Oahu, Hawii.²⁰⁸⁴⁰ Jeanette died on 2 September 1996 at the age of 78 in Van Nuys, Los Angeles Co., CA and was buried at Oakwood Memorial Park Cemetery in Chatsworth, Los Angeles Co., CA.²⁰⁸⁴¹
