CLAREMORE — Services for Levota Marie Coffey were 10 a.m., today at Claremore Assembly of God Church. Burial was at Greenwood Cemetery in Eufaula under the direction of Rice Funeral Service. Levota passed away on Tues., July 30, 2013. She was 78.

Born Sept. 24, 1934, in McIntosh County to Bertus Joseph and Mattie Veatrice (Baker) Walters; she was reared and educated near Eufaula. On Oct. 27, 1951 she married Ronnie Clel Coffey and the couple was blessed with three daughters. Ronnie was an Assembly of God pastor and Levota lovingly took on the role of mother and pastor's wife. The family made many different communities home throughout the years. When they retired they moved to Pryor and this was home until Ronnie's passing in 2000. Levota moved to Claremore to be closer to her family and this has been home since.

A great cook and baker, Levota was famous for her pies, cakes and cookies that she generously shared with her family. Her roast beef was out of this world and a staple for Sunday dinner. She was also known for her homemade ice cream. Levota enjoyed a good book and took every opportunity to read to her children and later her grandchildren. She was a magnificent seamstress and made most of the girl's dresses and school clothes. Each of her daughters and grandkids has a quilt she made.

Levota loved having her family near. When those grandchildren came along, she was in her element; they always had a wonderful time when they visited. Her church and church family was also important to Levota and she was faithful to them. Having a great since of humor, she enjoyed a good joke.

A caring and loving mother, grandmother and friend, Levota leaves a treasure of memories to those she leaves behind. Her family that survives includes her daughters Glenda Lou Walden and husband Rick of Adair, Brenda Gail Foshee and husband Ron of Sand Springs and Ronna Kay Hatley and husband Paul of Claremore; her grandchildren Aaron Bruce Walden of Adair, Traci Dawn Walden and fiancée Mike Arthurs of Claremore, Ryan Jeffrey Foshee and wife Brittany of Tulsa, Laura Marie Foshee of Oklahoma City, Tia Lynette Henson and husband Dustin, Whitney Lee Hildebrand and Matthew David Hildebrand all of Claremore; her great grandchildren Braden Chase Henson, Logan Matthew Henson, Ellie Rose Radcliffe and Peyton Shawn Henson; her sisters Mae Mason of Sacramento, California and Betty Beck of Eufaula and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. Levota was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ronnie, her sister Wynoma Faye Walters and her brothers James Bertus Walters and Harland Walters.
