Reubin Earl Taylor, 80, of York Drive, Waynesboro, passed away on Saturday morning, April 27, 2013, at Avante at Waynesboro. He was born on May 27, 1932, in Cornwall, Virginia, son of the late Roy Franklin Taylor and Verna Mae Coffey Taylor. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Earl was retired as an automotive mechanic and served in the United States Navy. Earl was an avid Nascar and Redskins fan, and enjoyed fishing and hunting in his earlier days. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Kathryn Taylor;a daughter, Carol Lynn Berry;two brothers, Carl Leon Taylor and Ronald Calvin "Ronnie" Taylor;and son-in-law, Walter L. Barrett. Left to cherish his memories are his daughter, Debra L. Barrett and her companion, Glenn Bowers;son, James D. Eavey and his wife, Jennifer Eavey;granddaughters, Kathryn J. Moore and her husband, Daniel "Poet" Moore, and Elizabeth M. Eavey;great-grandson, Gideon E. Moore;and in-laws, Margaret Berry, Judy and Bud Hatcher, Mabel Stott, Patsy and Jimmy Rickman;and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, May 2, 2013, at McDow Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday May 3, 2013, at the chapel of McDow Funeral Home by the Reverend Vernon Berry. Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park. Active and honorary pallbearers will be family and friends attending the service. It is the family's request that memorial contributions be made to the funeral home to help with arrangements. Reubin Earl Taylor and Ruby Kathryn Rickman were married on 18 August 1956 in Waynesboro, Independent City, VA.⁴³⁶¹¹ Ruby Kathryn Rickman, daughter of James Washington Rickman and Florence Christine Campbell, was born on 27 March 1941 in Augusta Co., VA. Ruby died in Augusta Co., VA on 21 April 2006 and was buried at Augusta Memorial Park in Augusta Co., VA on 26 April 2006 .⁴³⁶¹²

Ruby Kathryn Rickman Taylor, 65, of 610 N. Bayard Ave., Waynesboro, went to be with her Lord April 21, 2006, at Harrisonburg Health and Rehabilitation Center, Harrisonburg.

The family will receive friends and family at the Taylor family home at 311 York Drive and the home of her daughter, Debra Barrett, at 609 North Bayard Avenue, both in Waynesboro, at various times.

Family and friends will also be received on April 25 from 7-8:30 p.m. at McDow Funeral Home.

A service will be held at 2 p.m. April 26, 2006, at Basic United Methodist Church of Waynesboro, with burial following at Augusta Memorial Park.
