S. Nelson Coffey, a former resident of Oneida and McCreary County, KY., passed away Friday morning, July 26, in Palatine, Ill. He was born July 28, 1874.

Survivors include file children: Mrs. Geneva Shell, Rolling Meadows, Ill.; Roy Coffey, Worthington, Ohio; Boyce Coffey, Alexandria, Va.; Leland Coffey, Louisville, Ky.; and Mrs. Nellie Newport, Oneida, Tenn.; one brother, Jimmy Coffey, of McCreary County; 11 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren.

Services Monday, July 29, 1963 from Beldon Avenue Church of God with Rev. Homer Whitaker officiating. Burial in Arlington Cemetery, Chicago.

Nelson Coffey and Myrtle "Mertie" Holloway were married on 22 May 1906 in Scott Co., TN.²⁶²⁵³ They²⁶²⁵³ appeared in the census on 15 April 1910 in Rock Creek, Wayne Co., KY.²⁶²⁵⁴ They²⁶²⁵⁴ appeared in the census on 24 February 1920 in Yamacraw, McCreary Co., KY.²⁶²⁵⁵ Myrtle "Mertie" Holloway was born on 4 August 1890 in Kentucky. Myrtle died of appendicitis on 8 August 1921 at the age of 31 in McCreary Co., KY and was buried at Holloway Cemetery in Marshes Siding, McCreary Co., KY.

S. Nelson Coffey and Martha Lectie Bowling were married on 18 October 1925 in Scott Co., TN.²⁶²⁵⁶ They²⁶²⁵⁶ appeared in the census on 4 April 1930 at 603 N. Main St. in Oneida, Scott Co., TN.²⁶²⁵⁷ Martha Lectie Bowling was born circa 1876 in Tennessee. Martha died in 1935.

S. Nelson Coffey and Sophia Perry were married on 17 May 1938. They appeared in the census on 5 April 1940 in Hill Top, McCreary Co., KY.²⁶²⁵⁸ Sophia Perry, daughter of Calvin Perry and Dillie Higginbotham, was born on 6 June 1875 in Whitley Co., KY. Sophia died in Hill Top, McCreary Co., KY on 26 May 1948 of a cerebral hemorrhage and was buried at Holloway Cemetery in Marshes Siding, McCreary Co., KY on 28 May 1948 .²⁶²⁵⁹
