James appeared in the 1880 Elk Co., KS census as a "widower" while Susan appeared in the 1880 Russell Co., KY census as a "widow." James' family included sons John, Gideon and James. Those is Susan's household included Cordelia, Annie and Mary Jane. Mary Jane was born c1866 and could be the child previously enumerated as Patra. Susan Ann Bradshaw was born circa 1824 in Kentucky. She appeared in the census on 21 June 1880 in Russell Co., KY.³²⁸⁷
