In the 1910 census Lizzie reported that she was the mother of six children, but only three were still living.

Rev. Carter Jackson Dalton, son of Hiram Dalton and Mahala Jane Dalton, was born on 23 December 1876 in Grainger Co., TN. He registered for the WWI draft on 12 September 1918 in Rutledge, Grainger Co., TN.²²⁶⁹² He was ordained as a minister in the in 1922.²⁵⁷³ Rev. Dalton died on 10 April 1939 at the age of 62 in Tennessee and was buried at Mallicoat Cemetery in Thorn Hill, Grainger Co., TN.^{2573,22693,22694}

Rev. C. J. Dalton, born December 23, 1876, died April 10, 1939. He professed faith in Christ and joined the Oak Hill Baptist Church Jan. 4, Sunday, 1890. Later moved his membership to Cedar Springs. He was ordained a Minister of the Gospel, 1922, then he moved his membership back to Oak Hill Sept. 4, Saturday, 1928 where he remained a member until death. He was married to Lizzie Dalton Apr. 6, 1897. To this union nine children was born, five preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn his loss, a wife, four children, 18 grand children, three brothers and a host of relatives and friends and - By his wife, Lizzie Dalton
