He professed his faith in Christ at age 9 in the hallway of a barn. He was a preacher and a member of Community Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Bean Station, TN. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Carl and Mary Lee Dalton; son, Gary Lynn Dalton; brothers-in-law, Rev. Clifford Dalton and Henry Coffey; sister-in-law, Mary Dalton and nephew, David Coffey. He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife of 51 years, Joann Dalton son, Zendel (Pam) Dalton two grandchildren, Josh and Miranda Dalton brother, Paris (Minnie) Dalton sisters-in-law, Revelene Dalton and Christene Coffey brothers-in-law, Herb (Helen) Dalton, Alvin (Joann) Dalton and a great host of family, preaching brothers and sisters in Christ. The family will receive friends from 5-9pm Sunday, Jan. 15, 2012 at Coffey Funeral Home in New Tazewell and 5-9pm Monday, Jan. 16, 2012 at the Thorn Hill Baptist Church in Thorn Hill. Funeral service will be held at 11:00AM Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2012 at the Thorn Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Stevie Johnson, Rev. John Dalton Rev. Roger Porter and Elmer Kincaid officiating. Singers will be Norma Begley and Mable Lawson. Burial will follow in the McDaniel Cemetery with Roger Loudon, Greg Moore, Jerry Dalton, Rev.
