Funeral service was held this afternoon from a Gastonia residence. Mr. Coffey, a native of Caldwell, was born at the old toll gate house on March 29, 1879, the son of Thomas and Rachel Coffey. He was prominently connected throughout this county and well known. Surviving are the following children: Miss Minnie Coffey, Haskell Coffey, Donald Coffey, Mrs. Velma Helton, Howard Coffey, Maggie Coffey and Bessie Coffey; one sister, Mrs. Carrie Welborn of Caldwell county; two brothers, Dr. L, M.
