Lois had worked many years at Shadowline Hosiery and was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church. Miss Coffey is survived by three nephews, Roy and Mildred Coffey of Lenoir, Larry and Nancy Coffey of Lenoir, and Frank and Pam Coffey of Granite Falls. She is also survived by two nieces, Marie Bearden of Lenoir and Ruby Roberts of Lenoir. She is also survived by numerous other relatives. He was born July 18, 1931 in Caldwell County to the late Finley Houck and Effie Turnmire Coffey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Cloyd Coffey, Villas Coffey, Lloyd Coffey, Clyde Coffey and Ernest Coffey and two sisters, Blanche C. McGee and Coline Coffey. Mr. Coffey was a retired supervisor from Singer Furniture Company and a member of Kings Creek Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Marine Veteran of the Korean Conflict and a member of the National Guard. He also was a member of Mt. Pleasant Masonic Lodge #573 of Wilkesboro. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Rachel Hollar Coffey of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Gloria Coffey Ayers of Lenoir; two sisters, Mrs. Irene Coffey Hartley of Granite Falls and Miss Lois Coffey of Lenoir. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2005 at 11 a.m. at Kings Creek Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Randy Goode. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. Interment will follow at the church cemetery with Military Honors. The family will receive friends today, Aug. 2, 2005 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home.
