Coffey, George Obb, 89, died Monday. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Methodist Church.

Survived by three sons, Carlos and Robert, both of Lancaster, Leander Coffey, Columbus, Ind.; five daughters, Mrs. J. E. Whittaker, Mrs. Laura Hall, Mrs. Charlie Naylor, Mrs. Earl G. Mershon, all of Lancaster, Mrs. Claude Newman, Jr., Missouri; one sister, Mrs. Clarence Bolton, Lancaster; sixteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Ramsey Funeral Home, Lancaster, by Rev. Rollie Short and Rev. Brice McCulley. Burial in the Lancaster Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as casketbearers. Friends may call at the funeral home.

George Obb Coffey and Martha Elizabeth "Lizzie" Oakes lived with his brother Benjamin B. Coffey in Keltner, Adair Co., KY on 28 April 1910. Coffey, Mrs. Martha Elizabeth Oakes, 82, wife of Obb Coffey, died Friday at the Royal Manor Nursing Home, Nicholasville. Methodist Church. [sic] Other survivors are three sons, Carlos and Robert Coffey, both of Lancaster, Leander Coffey, Columbus, Ind.; four daughters, Mrs. Hubert Hall, Mrs. Charlie Naylor, Mrs. Earl G. Mershon and Mrs. Claude Newman, Jr., all of Lancaster; one step-daughter, Mrs. J. E. Whittaker, Lancaster; fifteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

Funeral service 2 p.m. Monday at Ramsey Funeral Home, Lancaster, by Rev. Rollie Short. Burial in the Lancaster Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. today.

Mershon, 81, of Eubank, died Monday. Born Jan. 30, 1930, in Garrard County, she was the daughter of the late George O. and Martha Oakes Coffey. She was retired from Rose's Cafeteria in Somerset, a member of Church of God, and was passionate about gardening and fishing. She was the widow of Earl Mershon. Survivors include her son, Ronnie (Linda) Hall of Eubank; a sister, Beulah Newman of Lancaster; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
