NORTH WILKESBORO - Mr. Robert Yale, better known as "Bob," 75, of Coffey Street, North Wilkesboro died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2005, at Villages of Wilkes Skilled Care. Mr. Yale was born in Wilkes County on Feb. 11, 1929, to Judson D. and Stella Shumate Yale. He was a member of the North Wilkesboro Presbyterian Church and the men's Sunday school class. Mr. Yale grew up and spent his life in Wilkes County as a true entrepreneur. He was founder and president of Brand Distributors Inc., and started and built several other businesses during his life. In addition to his parents, Mr. Yale was preceded in death by a brother, David Yale. Mr. Yale is survived by his wife of 56 years, Blair Coffey Yale, of the home; three sons, Carl G. Yale and his wife, Franz, of Moravian Falls, Robert R. Yale Jr. of Belaire, Texas, and J. Paul Yale of Millers Creek; and a grandson, Keith B. Ledbetter of Houston, Texas. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 14, at Mountlawn Memorial Park with the Rev. Steve Snipes officiating. The family requests memorials be made to the organization of the donor's choice.
