Coffey, of Tyro, died Sunday at her home at 4 p.m. after an extended illness at the age of 72. Mrs. Coffey, the former Winder Jean Coffey, was the daughter of Dabney and Sarah Bowen Hatter, and she was born in Nelson County. She was a faithful member of the Evergreen Christian Church in Tyro. Besides her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Allen Getman, of Blackstone; two sons, William Coffey, Avon, and Granville Coffey, Tyro. Also one sister, Mrs. J. A. Shifflett, Dayton; one brother, Gates Hatter; and a number of grandchildren. Body will remain at Piney River Funeral Home until 1 p.m. tomorrow.
