Missouri Hatley

Missouri Ann Hatley, 92, of Greasy Creek Road, Lenoir, died Monday, Aug. 4, 2003 at the residence.

She was born Nov.10, 1910, in Caldwell County to the late Tom Coffey and Ellie Mae Coffey.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Orvil Hatley; sons, Earl, Ray , Lennie and James Hatley; daughters, Mary Bristol, Hazel Hatley, Imogene Hatley, Nellie Pearl Hatley, Katherine Hatley and Shirley Rich; brothers, Abb Coffey and Arlie Coffey, and sisters, Rosie Rich, Epsey Gragg, Mary Coffey, Arizona Coffey and Cordie Coffey.

Mrs. Hatley was a homemaker and was of Baptist faith.

Survivors include two sons, E. J. Hatley of Lenoir and Howard Hatley of Morganton; four daughters, Mabel Bristol and Connie Hoyle, both of Collettsville, Bonnie Rich of Lenoir and Ruth Rich of Blowing Rock; two brothers, Lewis Coffey and John Coffey, both of Lenoir; one sister, Dolly Coffey of Statesville; 28 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Thursday at Pendry's Lenoir Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Dewey Bristol and Roger Webb officiating. Burial will be in the Cobb Hayes Family Cemetery.

The family will receive friends today from 7 until 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be: Allen Davila, Roy Bristol, Ray Bristol, Bobby Hatley, Jim Rich, Kenneth Hatley, Todd Rich and Jerry Bristol.

Hatley; four brothers and six sisters. Mr. Hatley was retired from Coffey Landscaping and attended Johns River Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Jeffrey Hatley of Radcliff, Ky.; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Carol) Bailey of Dixon, Mo.; a brother, Howard Hatley of Morganton; four sisters, Mrs. Ruth Ritch of Blowing Rock, Mrs. Bonnie Ritch of Lenoir; Mrs. Mabel Bristol and Mrs. Connie Hoyle both of Collettsville; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 20, at 11 a.m. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Dewey Bristol. Interment will follow in Upton Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers will be: Jim Ritch, Allen Davila, Roger Coffey, Sammy Coffey, Larry Coffey and Ken Williams.
