Carpenter, Mattie Coffey, born Feb. 13, 1906, passed away Oct. 14, 1988 at the age of 82. She professed faith in Christ in early years and jointed the Oak Hill Baptist Church and at her death she was the oldest member. She was married to Hobart David Carpenter in 1925 and to this union were one daughter and two sons. She was proceded in death by her parents Berry Wisdom and Mary Jane ( Sheffied ) Coffey; son, Clay Ellis Carpenter; husband, Hobart Carpenter, and brother Snyder Coffey. She is survied by her daughter Vina Livesay, son Roy Robert Carpenter of Bean Station; four granddaughters; three grandsons, seven great granddaughter, three great grandsons and bother, Rufus Klye Coffey of Thorn Hill. Funeral services were held at Mays Mortuary with Rev. Elmer Lamkin and Rev. Gary Satterfield officiating. Burial in Meadow Branch Cemetery. Written by niece Betty Carpenter Clerk.

Roy died at Lakeway Regional Hospital in Morristown, Hamblen Co., TN on 8 January 2012 and was buried at Meadow Branch Cemetery in Bean Station, Grainger Co., TN on 11 January 2012 .^35170,35171

Roy Carpenter 64 of Bean Station passed away Sunday, January 08, 2012 at Lakeway Regional Hospital. He was a life-long member and chairman of the deacons at Barnards Grove Baptist Church; an auto parts salesman in Morristown for over 40 years; preceded in death by his parents, Hobert David and Mattie Elnora Carpenter; brother, Clay Carpenter; and sister, Vina Carpenter Livesay. Survivors include his wife of 45 years Barbara Carpenter; children Teresa (Chris) Wolfe, Karen (John) Gallagher, and Jason (Paula) Carpenter; grandchildren, Daniel and Caleb Wolfe, Anna, Nathaniel, and Joseph Gallagher, Dorian and Ella Carpenter. Funeral services will be 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at Barnards Grove Baptist Church, Bean Station with Rev. Jeff Sinnamon and Rev. Dwight Wolfe officiating with receiving of friends 5:00-8:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. The family will meet Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at Meadow Branch Cemetery, Bean Station for an 11:00 a.m. graveside service.
