June 22 - Funeral services for William Henry Coffey, 68, were conducted Sunday afternoon from the Presbyterian Church, Lexington, conducted by his pastor, the Rev. I. D. Terrell of Buena Vista, assisted by Dr. J. J. Murray and H. L. Cathhey [sic] of Lexington, with burial in the Lexington Cemetery. Mr. Coffey died at the home of his son, W. W. Coffey, Saturday noon, from paralysis following an illness of several weeks. He had made his home with his son in Lexington for the past two years. Mr. Coffey was born and reared in Nelson County. His wife was formerly Miss Martha Jane Davis of Amherst County. They made their home for eighteen years in Buena Vista. He is survived by his widow, seven children, three brothers and a sister. The children are Mr. J. A. Caffelt, Allentown, Pa.; Mrs. Guy Palmer, Buena Vista; W. W. Coffey, Lexington; Talmadge and W. Andrew Coffey, Roanoke; Mrs. M. R. Bruin, Jr., Boydton, and Miss Sarah Coffey, Buena Vista. The brothers are Matthew, Lafayette and W. L. Coffey, Buena Vista, and the sister is Mrs. Matthew Ramsey, West Virginia. This may be the son of George Washington Coffey of Nelson Co. Martha Jane Davis and William Henry Coffey had the following children:
