He lived with his parents in Russell Co., KY on 4 August 1850. Milton resided with his parents in Collin Co., TX on 25 June 1860. W. Coffey was Third of Brothers to Die on Successive Days; Two are Buried in Texas "Three brothers have been claimed by death on successive days. "When M. W. Coffey, aged 76, of Lone Grove, died at his home at 9 o'clock Saturday morning, he was the last of the trip. His older brother, Will Coffey, died at McKinney, Texas, Friday, his younger brother, Taylor Coffey, died at McKinney on Thursday. "Deceased had been a resident of Carter county for 34 years and was one of the most dependable men in his community. The greater part of his residence here was spent in the Lone Grove community where he came to know and was known by all the old timers of Carter county and had a host of friends among the so-called new-comers. "He is survived by his wife, seven sons, I. J., of Duncan, T. O., M. P., E. W., A. W., Sale, and Walter, all of Lone Grove, and two daughters, Mrs. Wood Herndon and Mrs. Sam Lane. "Funeral services will be conducted at the Lone Grove Baptist church Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock, the Rev. J. B. Snider of McKinney, Texas officiating, with interment in the Lone Grove cemetery."

According to 1910 census for her son William, Jenny was a member of the Chickasaw tribe. She was 1/8 Indian and 7/8 white. However, in the 1930 census, her daughter, Myrtle reported that her father was "mixed blood" and her mother was a Chickasaw Indian. That she was a Chickasaw Indian was confirmed in the Lone Grove Ledger article on Jun. 26, 1985 by Sue Miller when she interviewed some of her grandchildren.
