G. Coffey High Point, Sept. 18.-Funeral services for G. G. Coffey, 52, former resident of High Point, who died at his home near Lenoir Sunday, will be held at Hilliard Memorial Baptist church Wednesday at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Oakwood cemetery. Mr. Coffey was a son of Smith and Rebecca Green Coffey. Five years ago he was ordained a Baptist minister. He was twice married, first to Ella Anne Barnette, who died here in January, 1933, From this union to daughters survive, Mr. J. W. Carmichael of High Point, and Mrs. C. T. Hixon of Kingsport, Tenn., and two sons, Vernon S. Coffey, of High Point, and Pvt. Paul Coffey, of the army, stationed in Texas. Mr. Coffey later was married to Helen Garrison, of Georgia, who survives him. G. Coffey, died here at her home on Vine street shortly after 7 o'clock tonight after an illness of eight weeks. Besides the husband, Mrs. Coffey is survived by four children, Mrs. Agnes Carmichael, Miss Mabel Coffey and Paul and Vernon Coffey, all of High Point; three brothers, J. F. Barnett of Lenoir; W. O. Barnett of North Wilkesboro, and Smith Barnett of Cleveland, O., and one sister, Mrs. J. S. Piercy, also of Cleveland. Funeral service will be held at Hillard Memorial Baptist church Sunday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Hughey O. Miller. Interment will be in Oakwood cemetery.
