William Coffey Jr. was born on 5 May 1812 in Yadkin River Valley in Wilkes Co., later Caldwell Co., NC.¹⁴⁹⁸ On 24 July 1849 Yadkin Valley, Caldwell Co., NC William was named Guardian of Polly and Patsy Hawkins, daughter of his deceased sister, Elizabeth Coffey Hawkins.¹⁴⁹⁹ On 9 October 1849 Yadkin Valley, Caldwell Co., NC William was named Guardian of John Wilkerson Coffey and Nancy Coffey his half-siblings, children of the deceased William, Sr.¹⁵⁰⁰ William died in Buffalo Twp., Caldwell Co., NC on 8 May 1893.¹⁵⁰¹

"To the Editor of the Lenoir Topic: Died at his home on Buffalo, in Caldwell county, May the 8th, 1893, William Coffey, aged 81 years and 8 days. His wife, Margaret, also departed this life April 26th, 1882, in the 66th year of her age. The Lord blessed them with a family of twelve children of which seven remain to mourn their loss. Brother and Sister Coffey joined the Baptist church in 1847; was soon ordained in the office of Deacon and Deaconess, which office they executed well. They both lived consistent Christian lives. We were present at the funeral of Sister Coffey, and remember hearing Brother Coffey express his desire to be asleep in Jesus with his companion. Since that time his greatest delight has been in the worship and service of the house of the Lord, often expressing a strong desire to be freed from the temptations and perplexities of this, and after an illness of about 6 months he fell asleep in the full triumphs of faith and was gathered to his loved ones that had gone before. Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord. M.C. and J.H.J."

William Coffey Jr. and Margaret Robbins^1502,1503 were married on 2 January 1836 in North Carolina.¹⁴⁹⁸ They^¹⁴⁹⁸ appeared in the census on 19 September 1850 in Yadkin Valley, Caldwell Co., NC.¹⁵⁰⁴ They^¹⁵⁰⁴ appeared in the census on 19 June 1860 in Yadkin Valley, Caldwell Co., NC.¹⁵⁰⁵ William and Margaret^¹⁵⁰⁵ appeared in the census on 8 July 1870 in Yadkin Valley, Caldwell Co., NC.¹⁵⁰⁶ They^¹⁵⁰⁶ appeared in the census on 9 June 1880 in Yadkin Valley, Caldwell Co., NC.¹⁵⁰⁷ Margaret Robbins, daughter of Thomas Robbins and Mary Morphew, was born circa 1816 in North Carolina.¹⁵⁰⁸ Margaret died in Yadkin Valley, Caldwell Co., NC on 26 April 1882.

1613	iii.	Larkin Coffey¹⁵⁰⁹ was born on 7 June 1840 in Buffalo Creek, Wilkes Co., NC. Larkin enlisted in the Co. A, 22nd Inf. Regt., NC on 19 March 1862 at Yadkin Valley, Caldwell Co., NC. Resided in Caldwell County, North Carolina at the time of enlistment. Enlisted on March 19, 1862 at Lenoir, North Carolina in the 22nd North Carolina Company A at the age of 21. Captured on May 1, 1864 at Beaver Dam. Arrived at Port Royal, Virginia on May 30, 1864. Transferred to Elmira where he died of disease as a POW. He died on 4 August 1864 at the age of 24 in Scotland, St. Mary's County, MD and is buried at the Point Lookout Confederate Cemetery in Point Lookout, St. Mary's Co., MD.^{1407,1510,1511}
