Henry Coffey, aged 78, died at his home here [Oneida] Wednesday after an illness of some duration. Mr. Coffey was a life-long resident of this county, having been born in Whitley County, Ky., July 14, 1869. Mr. Coffey was a good citizen and had a large number of friends here and in the county. He is survived by three sons, Harry, Howard and Alton, all of Oneida; two daughters, Della Coffey and Mrs. Estella Vaughn, of Oneida; three brothers, William of Oneida, and Cap and Jiltz, of Stearns, Ky.; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral will be held Friday, May 2, at two o'clock at the Oak Grove Baptist Church with Revs. Ray Blevins and Leland Thomas officiating. Interment in the Litton cemetery with Hickman in charge. Henry Coffey and Jennie Ann Hurtt11915 were married on 11 March 1889 in Scott Co., TN. Jennie Ann Hurtt was born in 1870 in Morgan Co., TN. Jennie died on 16 September 1933 at the age of 63 in Oneida, Scott Co., TN and was buried at Litton Cemetery in Oneida, Scott Co., TN.11916,11917 Obituary, The Scott County News, Sep. 22, 1933 Coffey, Jennie Hurtt."Mrs Henry Coffey Dies Last Friday" Buried Sunday Afternoon in the Litton Cemetery. Mrs. Henry Coffey died here at her home about midnight last Friday night. Mrs Coffey was one of Oneida's most highly respected citizens. She was a member of the Methodist Church and was a splendid Christian woman. Funeral Services were conducted from the residence Sunday afternoon by the Rev J.M. Ball, pastor of the Methodist church, with interment in the Litton Cemetery. T.W. Edwards, local funeral director in charge of arrangements. Mrs Coffey, aged 62, was before her marriage, Miss Jennie Hurtt and has a large number of relatives here.The deceased is survived by her husband, three sons, Harry, Howard and Alton, and two daughters, Della and Mrs. Albert Vaughn, all of Oneida.
