Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Josephine Dellinger Coffey; three sons, Mack and Wilson Coffey, Route 1, Blowing Rock, and Boyd Coffey of Star Route, Lenoir; five daughters, Mrs. Andy (Bertha) Jenkins of Whitnel, Mrs. Lydia Coffey Gragg of Sawmills and Mrs. Leonard (Minnie) Thompson, Mrs. Howard (Deatte) Bolick and Mrs. Otis (Pauline) Bell, all of Lenoir; two sisters, Mrs. Celia Lowdermilk of Kingsport, Tenn., and Mrs. Julia Dellinger of Lenoir; 45 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Lenoir Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Murray Coffey. Burial will be in the family cemetery near the Caldwell-Avery county line. The family will receive at the funeral home from 7 to 9 o'clock this evening. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Pendry's Lenoir Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be the Revs. Murray Coffey and Lawrence Crump. Burial will follow in the Coffey family cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home tonight from 7 to 9 o'clock. Pallbearers will be James Bass II, Roger Hamby, Steve Thompson, Junior Billings, Roy Coffey, and Boyd Coffey, Jr. In addition to Josie, some family memebers referred to her as "Safari."
